INDUSTRIAL PROCESS WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR BIOMASS COGENERATION PLANT IN GHENT, BELGIUM

The project included the design, manufacture and installation of three plants: One water treatment plant for industrial process, one drinking water treatment plant and one containerized wastewater treatment plant, for ELECNOR in Ghent, Belgium.

The water plant for industrial process is has 4 modules and the treatment process includes:

  • Chemical Reagent dosage
  • Pretreatment by double filtration using AFM and activated carbon
  • A first reverse osmosis step
  • NaOH dosage for CO2 removal
  • A second reverse osmosis step
  • Electrodeionization (EDI)

The goal of this treatment is producing water of the highest quality for the electricity generation process in the new cogeneration plant of BELGIAN ECO ENERGY (BEE) Gas and Electricity Company, located in the port of Ghent, Belgium.

The drinking water plant has:

  • Chlorine dosing system to ensure water disinfection conditions

Finally, the containerized wastewater treatment plant has:

  • pH adjustment system
  • Filtration by ring filter

La planta dispone de un tratamiento con las siguientes etapas:

  • Planta de pretratamiento compacta
  • Tanque de homogeneización
  • Reactor anóxico
  • Reactor biológico de tipo MBBR
  • Dosificación de coagulante
  • Decantación
  • Tanque de agua clarificada
  • Tratamiento terciario mediante filtración de arena y
  • Desinfección mediante UV
  • Tratamiento de lodos mediante decantador de fangos y sacos filtrantes

El agua tratada es reutilizada en actividades agrícolas y riego de áreas verdes.
