PRIMARY TREATMENT EQUIPMENT


The primary treatment equipment are suitable for industrial and urban sewage treatment.


Primary treatment goal is the reduction of the amount of suspended solids in the sewage by means of different processes such as injecting air flow, adding chemical reagents or adjusting the speed of the sewage. Thus, the particles that are heavier than the water are settled and those particles lighter than water float.


With the primary treatment up to a 90 % of the settleable solids and 65% of the suspended matters are removed and also a drop of 35% of the BOD.

DISOLVED AIR FLOTATION UNITS-DAF

It is one of the most used purification systems for industrial wastewater treatment, because in most cases achieve the limits for discharging the effluents to the collectors and sometimes also those for discharging to riverbeds. The system can works both with and without addition of chemical reagents.

The dissolved air floatation unit -DAF- is an entirely stainless steel made device. It is equipped with a water pressurization kit for the formation of air micro-bubbles of 30 to 50 microns size.

These micro-bubbles stick to the solids particles in the wastewater, forming floating aggregates. The floating solids are drawn by a surface scraper to a discharge gutter. Heavy particles settle in the bottom of the floating unit, like sand particles, being periodically removed by a purge valve.

  • High level of wastewater treatment. With the addition of chemical reagents, it is possible to achieve a pollutant removal efficiencies of 90% in oils and fats, 85% in suspended solids and 40% in COD.
  • Solids separation is estimated to be up to 5 times faster than in conventional decanters. This means a lower space requirement and a shorter water retention time.
  • The concentration of the separated solids is 8 % higher than in a conventional decantation.

AEREATED SCRAPED DEGREASER-DAR

The aerated degreaser is a cylindrical device made by stainless steel. The sewage enters into the DAR and its speed is reduced helping the separation of suspended particles.

The degreaser has an AEROFLOT submerged turbine that generates bubbles, which help the solids particles float to the surface.

A rotating two-bladed scraper pulls floating solids into a discharge gutter. Heavy particles settle in the bottom of the degreaser unit, being periodically removed by a purge valve.

SAND CLASSIFIER

The sand classifier separates the sands and heavy sediments from the decanted material in the primary treatments of the wastewater treatment plants.

The sewage with solids gets into the sand classifier, the speed and turbulence are reduced there and the sand is settled.

The solids particles decanted at the bottom are slowly raised by a screw conveyor and dehydrated before being discharged.
