BIDATEK WATER SOLUTIONS offers a wastewater treatment solution based on SBR technology (Sequencing Batch Reactors) manufactured in 20 and 40 feet maritime containers.
SBR TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION
The Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) is like an activated sludge treatment system whose operation is based on sequences of filling and emptying cycles. The processes for the elimination of the pollution is like in a conventional activated sludge process, both systems have aeration and sedimentation – clarification processes. The difference is that while in conventional active sludge, the processes are developed in two different stages (aeration in the biological reactor and decantation / clarification in the secondary decanter), in the SBR all processes take place at the same stage / tank.
The operating stages of a SBR reactor are:
- Filling stage: The tank is filled with the sewage.
- Aeration stage: Oxygen is supplied for reduction of organic matter and nutrients.
- Sedimentation stage: Aeration and pumping equipment are stopped, allowing the sedimentation of the solids (sludge).
- Emptying stage: Treated clarified water is discharged.
- Sludge purge stage: The excess of the sludge is removed by pumping.
The biggest difference of the SBR solution is that the whole biological treatment process is done at the same stage / reactor.
